Adobe, Google, Yahoo, Team-up To Make Flash Contents Searchable
Last July 1, Adobe announced that in order to make rich Internet applications (RIA) and dynamic contents created using Flash to be easily identifiable, they would start to offer optimized Flash technology to search engines like Google and Yahoo.
With this, it will allow search engines to recognize text within the Flash programs resulting to millions of new searchable RIAs and dynamic contents without changing the behavior on the developers side.
According to Justin Everett-Church, senior product manager for Adobe Flash Player, “Using Flash has always been a bit of a tradeoff. You get all the great graphics and experiences but you lose some search capability. Hopefully this will remove some of those barriers to entry.”
Although this is a great news for most of the sites that use flash and plan to use flash, developers should be wary in using this program because too much of this can affect the site’s user experience that may lead to turning away of the consumers.
