CCTV will use WebTrends Analytics to monitor the trend of millions of Chinese Internet users who visit CCTV.com, the network’s official web site. Online videos – news, replays and video-on-demand within mainland China and Macau – and other web content will be tracked. The perspective acquired from this will then be used in customizing the website’s content throughout the Olympics. For example, visitors can be notified of upcoming game schedules or they can receive highlights of the day’s events.

Hundreds of local NBC network TV affiliates in the US trusted WebTrends Analytics to analyze their online traffic during the 2004 Summer Games in Athens, Greece and the 2006 Winter Games in Turin, Italy. This year, WebTrends technology will again take a vital role in the Olympics to help optimize web content on a very large scale.
